Bringing this to life by partnering with teams that are innovationing in education, climate change, NetZero, circular economy, future of living, health and many more important sectors. Our partners use Canda to ensure their employer brand cuts through the noise, they hire the best people and save on recruitment costs.


The role?

We are not about scale. We are a perfectly formed community of highly skilled talent partners, employer brand enthusiasts and culture custodians.

We get our kicks from working on a manageable amount of exciting projects in the VC scale-up ecosystem at any one time, helping companies we believe in scale sustainably and sharing a laugh along the way.

We’ve grown to c.20 people and we are on track to reach 50 in the next 3 years so this is a fantastic opportunity to be our first in-house Talent lead, build out our infrastructure to accommodate our big plans and take full ownership of our Employer Brand, Talent Acquisition strategy and processes.

We’ll want you to think creatively about how we attract & engage the best talent partners, recruiters, recruitment marketing & sourcing talent in the in-house sectors so you’ll have the freedom to pitch and try new tools, methods and/or ideas.

You'll spend quality time with the senior leadership team to align the talent acquisition strategy with the business strategy and partner directly with the managers to always be on top of their current and future talent needs.


What will you be doing?

  • Owning all things talent. This is truly a 360 role where you will be optimising and fully owning our talent processes end-to-end.

  • Ensuring that we take an inclusive approach to all recruitment activity and creating a diverse talent pool so Canda can recruit people that bring different perspectives and characteristics

  • Creating a superlative candidate experience by being responsive, proactive and clear about what makes Canda a great place to work, as well as providing constructive and actionable interview feedback in a timely manner.

  • Be the Canda ambassador, shouting about our epic culture out into the world and helping us attract the next wave of talent to join our mission-driven company.

  • Develop and own a best in class recruitment process that has our culture and candidate experience front and centre

  • Build a pipeline of amazing, super engaged candidates whilst molding our processes to meet the changing needs of the market. Find unique ways to build talent pipelines. This should include organic methods, attending internal and external events, utilisation of external sourcing platforms and more

  • Budget, plan & manage third-parties and consultants to achieve the best outcomes.

  • Work with the marketing team to align our employer brand with our talent acquisition efforts.

  • You will have the opportunity to own and deliver projects. Previous projects included referral schemes and ATS implementation.

  • Understanding of D&I recruitment and commitment to mitigating unconscious bias in hiring processes

  • Experience of tracking and reporting recruitment data and using it to continuously improve candidate experience + hiring practices


What does a successful 12 months look like?

You’ve hired a total of 15 people. 5 within our Talent Associate program and 10 experienced talent partners & managers in the VC/scale-up ecosystem.

Working with our people lead, you’ve carried out some deep analysis to ensure the Canda employer value proposition is optimised to attract the talent we need.

Working with our marketing team, you’ll re-launch our employer brand (job specs, careers page, communities & social) to reflect our new mission, vision and values. Making sure we ‘lift the curtain’ to showcase our culture + developing content that reflects our principles and what is different about Canda as an employer in the talent space.

The curation of deep and engaged pipelines of talent across our key roles and the maintenance of a small freelancers pool.

Requirements

About You?

We are pretty open minded but we think this will suit someone who is an expert at what they do but need flexibility in their working pattern. We’re looking for someone who wants to work part-time or perhaps around school hours.

The qualifications & experiences below are just a guide and we’d love to hear from candidates with less or more experience, provided the requisite skills can be demonstrated.

  • 3 years+ experience in in-house recruitment.

  • A genuine passion for what you do and a positive mental attitude towards work.

  • A working knowledge across the Talent Acquisition lifecycle (EVP, Branding, Recruitment Process, tools & tech etc)

  • An affinity for innovation and scaling businesses in the start-up ecosystem

  • Ability to work on various open roles & talent projects simultaneously and to manage conflicting priorities and different stakeholders.

  • An inquisitive mindset that always seeks improvement, whether that's to do with optimising processes, or fuelling your personal growth.

  • Experience directly sourcing exceptional candidates relevant/similar to our business, running campaigns and managing social.

  • Proactive to deliver in a fast-paced environment & an “over communicator”
